Big Green Book

Advertising today is one of the biggest and largest markets online today. With many companies having sales teams to eat into your budget for marketing on and offline, how do you choose which is the best of these online "business communities" to spend your money with?

We have advertised with a number of the "Big" companies, Thompsons and Yell are included within the list of ways to generate leads to market a business. In February 2010 we were approached by Big Green Book who explained that they were generating between 4 and 5 leads for website designers in the Hampshire area every month. Having looked into the company itself it seemed to be a good and honest company who did a reasonable amount of marketing to generate the leads specified.

Register with the Big Green Book

At the beginning of February we decided to register with the Big Green Book, expecting within a few weeks that we would have one or two enquiries passed our way. We received confirmation that our membership had been approved - logged in to the system and found that there was not much that we could actually do within the system. We contacted the comapny and requested some assistance and got very little in return.

Contact Big Green Book

After just four months we have had not one phone call from the Big Green Book until a few days ago when we were called to spend yet more money with them for a show that they are attending. I discussed with them where the 4/5 enquiries that they had been receiving had disappeared to... they said they do not guarantee to generate any enquiries - well hey what a surprise; this was not confirmed with us when we had a call from them.

As a rule personally, I would not recommend advertising with the Big Green Book as you will simply be throwing money straight down the drain, spend it elsewhere!

We would recommend that you ask to contact some of the existing advertisers within the given business category to find out their experience first before spending any money.
Additionally do a good search on the inertnet about the big green book, you will find a vast number of companies who have advertised with them.
