Feedback

Just a quick note to thank you for all the help in setting up and maintaining our revised site.

From the implementation of the design work to the coding of the site you have been brilliant. Even when we asked for some of the changes to be made to adapt the shopping cart software to meet our own needs nothing was too much trouble.

I would have no hesitation in recommending you, as the service we have received has been far above expectation and within our budget.

Website Software

If you want to build and run your own website then it is of course important to think which kind of Website Software you want to use. There are several aspects and parts to be considered. Here is a list of different areas you need to examine for running your own website and what kind of Website Software you need to have:

1. Content Management Website Software

How are you going to manage the content of your website? You can use custom programmed software with your own interface or you use so called open source solutions like wordpress or joomla. If you use open source solutions they are initially free, however you will often face the challenge that you still might need to hire someone to make custom changes, graphic design templates or installing add ons to enable additional website functionality.

2. User Interaction Website Software

Of course you don’t want to have a stale website and it is recommend - especially if you want to sell something directly to website visitors - that you use some sort of chat support and/or support ticket system that gives the potential customers confidence that someone is reacting to their questions and needs.

3. Follow up Website Software

The heart of any website business is the follow up with customers to remind them to come back to your site if you have updates or just to remind them that they did consider to buy the product and to get people to act on their initial interest. This is an important aspect where you need to get an email follow up system such as GetResponse or AWeber - you schedule prewritten messages to remind people that your company is there for them

4. Web2.0 Website Software

A great magnet for website visitors are forums where people can meet and exchange ideas and concerns, so you might to think about having your own discussion forum board. However this also comes with your obligation to monitor and moderate such a place or it will turn into a spam trap after a while. So you need to think if it is worth to pay a moderator and someone who is coordinating the exchange of ideas and postings on your website. The true worth of interaction is worth it many times. Web2.0 software includes also "refer a friend" functionality and any tools that connect with Twitter, Facebook and MySpace for example.

5. Financial Website Software

Of course if you want to monetize your site, you need to consider using shopping cart software. Some people start with paypal solutions that are offered for free, but others prefer to have more freedom and implement different payment options for their customers.

No matter what kind of Website Software you are looking into, make sure you create a strategy that can be automated. Your success - and that is often not told - lies in you having multiple presences on the Internet, so you need to be able to scale and multiply your system under different names to reach your target audiences.
